Banned Books Week Display
To help the Farmington Public Library celebrate Banned Books Week 2016 (Sept 25-Oct 1), I made 3 displays that together made what you see in the picture. Each one was about 8 ft long by around 2 ft wide. The look of the display that you see here was also on the back. The display was made using pages from aged books that had a light amber hue to them, which showed a worn, aged look. It's what made the display look good. I glued them together in a specific repeating pattern and used a machine made stencil for each letter used and painted them on. I used the same black paint on the bottom and ripped it to make the bottom look burnt.

Windows 10 and Deep Freeze Upgrades at the Farmington Public Library
In the summer of 2018, I was pulled off of desk duties as a clerk and assigned to work on computer upgrades, technology documentation, and computer repairs.
Previously we used VHD's to maintain an image file to restore if a computer went down. We decided that we were spending too much time doing repairs, which slowed us from other tasks, or integrating new technology. I helped research and test Deep Freeze, a program that creates an image of a computer that is always kept on every shutdown or restart. This prevents issues, including patrons altering the system in any way.
With Windows 10, we could not use a VHD for Deep Freeze so we decided to use a hard drive cloner from Inateck. We should not have to use it too much after an intitial copy of hard drives, but it is a failsafe if a Deep Freeze machine needs to be restored. It prevents the need for continual licensing of software for a backup of hard drives, such as Symantec Ghost. This project began in mid-May and finished in mid-July as my main project, with full documentation of the procedures and other projects worked on during this time period.
